What’s special about Island Park Charter School?

Our curriculum is centered in science, history and geography. Since we are in the Yellowstone Ecosystem, having a science-based curriculum seems “natural” for us. Students learn about plants, animals, habitats, organ systems, cell structures, geology, physics, and other science topics in a project-based learning environment. They also learn about world history and geography, including ancient and modern civilizations. American history, geography and values round out the foundation of our curriculum. Reading, writing, and arithmetic is taught at each student’s instructional level. As students demonstrate mastery of skills and concepts, they move to the next level of instruction. All students are given the information, practice, and assistance needed to work at a challenging, but not frustrating, level.
